hello there Patrick and Liberation technologies, thanks for posting this
link patrick, i have written several articles about the protest in sudan in
my blog here http://sudaneseguardian.blogspot.com and even started
a crowd-map just 1 day after the protest started
https://sudanrevolts2012.crowdmap.com/ but it seem that when we talked
about the usage of crowd map online, the question of safety was a
big concern and it was hard to try to explain the process of using
hushmail.com. i do notice that crowd map page is using https which gives me
the idea that it is secure. the most important thing is that a crowd-map is
up and working. as i know that the Sudanese government will try it best to
know who is tweeting/posting and where they are. also you know that one of
the main telecom in the Sudan "sudani" is owned by the government and the
others the government has a share in it so they are able to track many
things or even use a kill switch to stop communication. news of internet
shutdown is spreading but i see that there people using tor and people
sending information by mobile phone. but the good news is that we are still
able to get clips and information from the protesters in many part of
the Sudan even in cities outside the capital. i will try to update more
about the current situation in Sudan as i get information. thanks for
sharing partick. for more information about the protest check this link
