[liberationtech] Virtual Dataroom - Solutions for Donors?

Hi there,
I have asked this question before but it got lost in another debate.
Has anyone experience of using virtual data rooms for NGOs to share
documents (relatively) securely with donors etc?
If you have, how to you solve the problem of many donors not being
able to download PDF Plugins because of firewalls? 

What is every ones positive/negative experiences with such vendors?
