You are right in that respect, and I am sorry for my too short answer. I
am aware of the dubious background of safe-mail, but I still consider
them "safe" for plenty of use cases. The guide should probably mention
that the choice of email provider (location, company) should be based on
the individual threat model.

Safe-mail does not require Javascript, has a reduced interface, and for
many years has been reliable (in the sense of "up"). That's why I
suggested it. It is "as dubious" as Tormail.net, but has a longer history.

The guide only talks about setting up a blog at wordpress.com, not so
much about using the email account for anything else. I would suggest to
use different accounts (and likely ISPs) for different purposes.

Every time someone asks for a reliable email provider, I am tempted to
get into that business myself...
