Hi there,
My name is Taylor Thomander, I'm the program coordinator at
TechChange<http://www.techchange.org>.
I want to let you know about an online training opportunity we've created
on leveraging mobiles in international development environments. The course
will train on an array of mobile phone projects and initiatives and is
designed for graduate students, practitioners and other professionals
working in the field. We are really excited about the technologies that
we'll be looking at as well as the guest experts that will be contributing.
We tend to have around 50-60 participants in our courses from more than 20
countries. We offer several ways to network with other practitioners as
well as certification upon completion. For more information visit the
course site<http://techchange.org/mobiles-for-international-development-new-platform-for-public-health-finance-and-education/>or
feel free to reply with questions.
The specific technologies and case studies that we'll be looking at are:
MPesa (Mobile Money Transfer Platforms)
FormHub, GeoPoll (Mobile Survey and Data Collection Tools)
FrontlineSMS RapidSMS/Souktel (Mass Texting Software Interfaces)
Sana Mobile (Mobile Diagnostics Platforms)
TxtEagle (Mobile Incentive Structures and Programs)
FreedomFone (IVR Systems)
Dates: The course will run for four weeks from April 2nd through April
27th, 2012.
Guest Experts:
Ken Banks, Founder of FrontlineSMS, PopTech Fellow, Ashoka Fellow, and
National Geographic Emerging Explorer.
Matt Berg, director of ICT for the Millennium Villages Project at
the Columbia University’s Earth Institute and one of Time Magazines 100
most influential people of 2010.
Patty Mechael, Executive Director of mHealth Alliance, a program founded by
the Rockefeller Foundation, Vodafone Foundation, and UN Foundation.
All the best,
Taylor
