[liberationtech] Any news on tahrir's development?

Hey guys,

We made decent progress towards a prototype during Kieran's summer of code
project, but there was still work to do, mainly on the GUI by the end of it.

Since then we didn't make much progress as Kieran was back at University,
and I have other commitments, but Kieran started work on the GUI again in
mid-December and it sounded like he was very close.

What the project really needs is another good Java programmer (or two, or
three!), to get their teeth into it.  I laid down most of the ground work
with a really powerful encrypted messaging layer that is deceptively easy
to use (inspired by how GWT handles client-server communication).

If anyone is interested, I would be more than happy to spend a few hours
walking them through the codebase over Skype.  Tahrir is designed to expose
the nicest possible API to the layers above, so it should be quite
pleasurable to work with.  For anyone that makes a decent contribution, I'm
also happy to be a resume reference for them in the future.

If any good Java coders are interested in the project, please take a look
