[liberationtech] Wired's response to Soghoian's criticism of their Cryptocat article

I would rather read what the list thinks about Singel's
non-sequitur foray into public health policy on HIV/AIDS as it relates to
the Catholic church, than a discussion about another discussion.

Wired, along with most publications, often writes naive pieces for a
non-technical audience that dangerously lacks nuance because their
reporters have little capacity or interest in getting the story right.
Nadim has a loquacious personality and is effusive about the seed support
his project has been given. Against all these written exchanges between
Wired and Chris, Libtech and itself, it seems to me that the only public
good created arose out of a private dinner in Toronto that few were privy
to.

The lesson should be that anyone in the media spotlight would do well to be
more self-conscious. If anyone really bitterly resents the attention
Cryptocat has been given, I would suggest the best first step is offering
revisions to 'Readme.md' on the project's Github.

I would tangentially point out Wired's coup in introducing Chris with a
link to their own, equally fawning, piece on him from last year.
