Hi Suraj,
Sorry for the slow reply. The idea of automatically introducing people
based on their inferred opinions is very interesting. I wonder, though,
whether social media, and Twitter especially, aren't already pretty good
at bringing together like-minded people. Perhaps it would be interesting
to think about how social media could bring together people with
contrasting or conflicting opinions, or people talking about similar
things in separate social circles?
Small world networks come to mind here: many local connections that make
the network tightly knit, plus a few long-distance connections that
greatly reduce the average distance between nodes. Do social media need
to work harder at fostering those long-distance connections?
