I didn't see this linked on this list, but it seems to more thoroughly address Andrew's previous remarks.  The net seems to be going pretty wild with this one. 

Of course, if it the French paper turns out to be cold fusion, it will no longer be news, and damage will be done.

I wish people would work in cooperation rather than grandstand.

It's not as though Tor doesn't operate in a polyglot community.  I rather enjoyed brushing up my childhood French when we went to Paris for grant meetings for Tor when I worked directly with the project!  

So language would not have been the issue, certainly?  But some communications, perhaps.
