It's fascinating that the same American government that insists on the ability to surveil any citizen's activity at any time, in the name of "national security," dares pretend that there are simple, effective means for people to speak freely and privately without being detected. These stories run side by side in the real world, and the writers don't even notice. I think my head is about to explode from trying to process the incongruity of it all.

Use the technology there, you're a hero in the eyes of the American government.
Use it here, you're a suspect.
