[liberationtech] Rallying Point at ContactCon

I want to let everyone on the list know about ContactCon -
http://www.contactcon.com - a really exciting conference I think could
serve as a rallying point for realizing many of the ideas discussed on
this list.

Conceived and facilitated by Douglas Rushkoff, the conference will
bring together a useful cross section of people and groups focused on
building an internet with fewer points of control. If you're familiar
with Douglas's work, to me he's one of the clearest, most articulate
voices around when it comes to describing why a decentralized internet
is important.

It'll be in New York on October 20, 2011. I also want to give a quick
shout out to Venessa Miemis for her tireless work behind the scenes
helping to put this together!
