If a voice crypto system keeps any relevant key material after the call ends it is broken by design.
At CryptoPhone we at this moment only do Windows Mobile (Android coming later this year), as RIM is really unfriendly towards independent software developers. CellCrypt for instance did not write their software themselfes, but needed to outsource to a "certified" development company.

Regarding the overall security of BlackBerry, you totally need to trust RIM. See last years incidence where Etisalat in the UAE installed government trojans onto all BlackBerrys and it got only noticed way after the fact by accident.
