[liberationtech] Saudi Prince invests $300mn in Twitter

I would also note that the prince own a larger stake in Fox (8% or so).
This is not inherently comforting, but last I checked FNC was pretty
critical of Saudi and definitely anti-Muslim.  However, I have heard some
on the right say Fox was less critical of Saudi Arabia than they should be.
By that's not a very compelling assessment.

Prince Waleed's more of a tycoon than a politics guy, I think, even if he's
in the royal family.   And with all his famous palaces and tachts, I doubt
he has the interest or facility to push for policy changes in Twitter.

He's also funded academic programs at harvard and georgetown, by the way.
 His money is real influence, to be sure, but I'm not sure it will be
leveraged in egregious or blatant ways, which also makes it harder to point
at.
