[liberationtech] Computing for Global Development: Is it Computer Science Research?'

I actually think its a fine time to be a grad student in this area since
I think its expanding, not shrinking. I happened to hear of another
faculty slot for ICTD last night. Anyway, this discussion within CS has
been going on mostly in places students wouldn't be aware of it, so if
you're a student in CS and thinking you'd like to talk to a faculty
level person about this area, feel free to get in touch. I'm happy to
chat and tell you what I know (because I'd like to see more faculty
doing this work, which requires more grad students doing this work, who
then go on to take the faculty positions).
