Dear HCI folks,

Winter quarter we (Neema Moraveji, LSTD PhD student, & Shelley
Goldman, LSTD faculty) are teaching a course on designing technologies
to support lifelong casual learning on mobile devices (namely,
iPhones).  Students carry out quarter-long research projects through a
user-centered design process. The goals of the applications will
vary widely under the umbrella of "casual learning".  The content in
question could be school-focused or not.  They could be meant for
classroom or out-of-school contexts from elementary school to seniors.
They could be games or not. Education-related or, more broadly,
learning- or empowerment-related.

This is a great opportunity for interested students to get involved in
existing research projects. If your on-going research could benefit
from an appropriately-scoped student project, please send me a link to
your project page plus a short (1-2 sentence) blurb, and I will
include it as a project idea for the class.

Thanks,
Shelley & Neema
