Hi all,

Just a quick reminder that we will start with two new books on April 28, namely:

– The Low-Carbon Contradiction: Energy Transition, Geopolitics, and the Infrastructural State in Cuba by Gustav Cederlöf
– The Deadly Life of Logistics: Mapping Violence in Global Trade by Deborah Cowen

This is a good time to start prepping for (re-)joining! All details on joining can be found here:
https://www.criticalinfralab.net/2025/11/open-reading-group/

Also: we're also happily accepting suggestions for books to read after these books, so that would roughly be for September. Feel free to share ideas over this list or to me individually.

I have been thinking about the following books:

- Hui, Yuk. 2024. Machine and Sovereignty: For a Planetary Thinking. U of Minnesota Press.
- Quinn, Josephine. 2025. How the World Made the West. Bloomsbury Publishing.

All your suggestions are very welcomed!

Best,

Niels
