Thanks to those who participated yesterday, we talked about The Print Shop, and I couldn't remember what the MS DOS equivalent was. But I asked my brother and without skipping a beat he said: Banner!

I enjoyed our discussion and how the book described that such pieces of software are like a game, show something new, are exciting, yet don't demand anything. I could go all Heideggerian on this ('THE SOFTWARE IS SHOWING ITSELF AND EXPOSING OUR RELATIONS OF BEING-IN THE WORLD'), but I won't.
