[IGF-DAIG] Reminder DAIG call for essays

As several DAIG members have requested an extension of some days to complete their paper submissions, we can consider that the deadline to submit drafts can be moved to 31 August.

Please make sure you will submit your drafts following the guidelines defined in the Call for Essays, by 31 August as this will be the only deadline extension https://intgovforum.org/en/filedepot_download/279/27750

Dear all,
This is a friendly reminder that the deadline to submit essays for the DAIG annual call on AI from the Global Majority is 25 August https://intgovforum.org/en/filedepot_download/279/27750
Some of us had the opportunity to gather at CPDP LatAm, two weeks ago (https://cpdp.lat/pt-br/programa/ ) and we had a very productive meeting of the DAIG coalition, where the following topics have been identified as priorities for our upcoming work:

  *   Environmental impact of AI
  *   Inclusion/exclusion
  *   Interoperability (legislative and technical)
  *   Algorithmic explainability
  *   Impact of AI on individuality and community
  *   Impact on gender and gender-based violence
  *   Impact of AI on work
  *   Facial recognition risks (particularly discrimination)
  *   Critical analysis of AI governance “stakeholders”
  *   Training and inclusion policies for underrepresented groups
  *   Using AI for public safety
  *   Compatibility of data scraping for AI training with data protection

Contributions exploring the abovementioned topics from Global Majority perspectives are highly encouraged
