*** Join the Tor Project’s Campaign #MoreOnionsPorFavor and Raise
Awareness About Onion Sites ***

Starting July 8th, The Tor Project is running a one month campaign to
raise awareness about onion sites, that is, websites available over
onion services. To participate, enable Onion-Location in the Tor Browser
(a new feature that announces to users if a website has an onion site
available), share your onion site using the hashtag #MoreOnionsPorFavor
on your favorite social media, and the Tor Project will select some
onion service operators to receive a Tor swag.

*** “The Future Is TransFeminist” ***

What would the future look like if algorithms that command our daily
interactions were developed based on feminist values? What if the
technologies we cherish were developed to crash, instead of maintain,
the matrix of domination of capitalism, hetero-patriarchy, white
supremacy, and colonisation? Via Joana Varon, Founding Directress at
Coding Rights.

*** Creators of Secure UX Curriculum Are Seeking Community Input ***

Caroline Sinders and Natalie Cadranel are creating an online, open
source curriculum focusing on security and privacy in design and are
looking for your help! The curriculum will be an actionable, modular,
educational guide for those who need to implement human rights centered
design into their workflows and practices. There are two surveys: Expert
Input Survey (for security trainer, designer, programmer, usability
expert, program manager, etc.) and Needs-Finding Survey (for tool
builders, designers, or individuals that manage projects that require
privacy)

*** Somalia Platform: the Growing Online Harassment Against Women and
Girls Needs to Be Addressed ***

Online harassment against women and girls in Somalia is increasing. The
Bareedo Platform has an urgent call to action to address the growing
number of incidents against women and girls in Somalia.

*** “Convite” a Series of Postcards to Connect Rural People in Latin
America around Privacy ***

Convite is a series of sound postcards directed to land defenders,
environmental defenders, social leaders of indigenous, afro and peasant
-rural- communities that seek to, with the use of sound language,
contribute information, tools and resources related to digital security
and self care in their digital, physical, psycho-social spaces. It is
above all a sum of wills and tools between the human rights community in
the digital age and the indigenous, Afro and peasant communities of
southwestern Colombia. The postcards are a collaboration between Nois
Radio and Internews.

*** GlobaLeaks Shows True Allyship ***

Whistleblower tool GlobaLeaks has shown true allyship this week when
they renamed their naming conventions to exclude terms deemed as
oppressive metaphors or racially inappropriate. They based this on the
IETF standard proposal created by Mallory Knodel and Niels Tenoever. We
would love to see other projects adopt this!
