*** Zoom Encryption Scheme has Significant Weakness, According to
Citizen Lab ***

This week Citizen Lab published a report on the popular app Zoom. They
found  their encryption scheme has significant weakness, and the
infrastructure has potential areas of concern. They observed the
transmission of meeting encryption keys through China.

*** Companies Around the World Developing Surveillance Tools for
COVID-19 ***

A number of surveillance tech companies are pivoting to tracking
coronavirus-infected citizens. Privacy experts are worried that they are
just trying exploit a crisis to expand their questionable businesses.

*** Saudis Suspected of Phone Spying Campaign in US ***

Saudi Arabia appears to be exploiting weaknesses in the global mobile
telecoms network to track its citizens as they travel around the US,
according to a whistleblower who has shown the Guardian millions of
alleged secret tracking requests.

*** Internews Launches ”Information Saves Lives Rapid Response Fund” to
Support Local Journalism Worldwide ***

The Rapid Response Fund will help small, local news organizations
worldwide survive in the face of COVID-19. The fund will launch with
$100,000 to be made available immediately.

*** OTF Increasing Rapid Response Support for COVID-19 ***

OTF has increased the total pool of funding available through the Rapid
Response Fund for interventions related to the COVID-19 pandemic and are
prioritizing all rapid response applications related to the pandemic.

*** Mozilla announces creation of a COVID-19 Solutions Fund ***

As part of the Mozilla Open Source Support Program (MOSS), the fund will
provide awards of up to $50,000 each to open source technology projects
which are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in some way.
