*** The IFF 2020 Call for Proposals Has been Extended to Dec 22 ***

We heard you and have decided to extend the IFF 2020 Call for proposal
to December 22!!!! We hope this provides you with more time to create
stronger proposals. However, don’t wait until the last minute. Get them
in as soon as possible!

*** Support Women Protesters in Hong Kong ***

If you or your organization supports women’s rights, consider co-signing
a letter urging the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women to
visit Hong Kong and examine the gender-based violence being committed
against protestors. The letter also asks that the Hong Kong government
establish an independent commission of inquiry to conduct  impartial
investigations.

*** Open Technology Funds becomes independent ***

The Open Tech Fund recently announced that they have become an
independent non-profit corporation and the first-ever USAGM grantee
dedicated to protecting human rights by combating online censorship and
advancing Internet freedom worldwide.

*** India Has once Again Shut Down the Internet to Control Protesters ***

India shut down the internet in the state of Assam on Thursday, after
citizens took to the streets to protest a controversial new citizenship
rule.
