Here are the updates for May 29 – June 2:
### News and Updates ###
** Citizen Lab’s “Tainted Leaks" **
“Our report uncovers a major disinformation and cyber espionage campaign
with hundreds of targets...our report provides further evidence of the
often-overlooked targeting of civil society in cyber espionage
campaigns. Civil society -- including journalists, academics,
opposition figures, and activists -- comprise the second largest group
(21%) of targets, after government.”

** Chatbots on WhatsApp for newsgathering in remote areas of Sudan **
An interesting story from our friends at Free Press Unlimited about a
Sudanese radio station that uses WhatsApp to gather news and information
from the ground. You might remember the workshop by Radio Dabanga during
the last IFF.

** Guardian Project seeks volunteers for Usability Study on Friday **
Do you ever do mobile trainings in a place with bad, blocked or no
internet access at all? Do you ever need to distribute apps to a large
number of mobile devices? If so, Carrie from the Guardian project would
like to hear from you and have you help test a tool to distribute apps
and other media to Android devices.
The remote usability study will take 30-40 minutes of your time on a
video call on June 2. You will receive a $20 Amazon gift card for your
participation.
