**IFF Call for Proposals Deadline: November 28th**
Just a reminder that the /_final deadline_/for the IFF Call for
Proposals is now *November 28th, 2016.*This _/replaces/_the previous
early deadline of October 2nd; however, we still encourage all to submit
their session and workshop ideas as soon as possible!

**Announcing the 2017 IFF Fellows!**
Last week, we announced the 28 Internet Freedom Festival Fellows for
2017 - an outstanding group of professionals & community leaders,
Fellows will work together to review and select sessions across the
entire Festival Program, to ensure that diverse viewpoints and voices
are well represented.

The IFF Fellows for 2017 were selected from a pool of over 300
candidates, and together represent 19 of the over 80 countries expected
to participate at the IFF this March.Please join us in giving them a big
congratulations!

**OTF Releases 2015 Annual Report**
On September 20, Open Technology Fund released its 2015 annual report
summarizing 18 months of operation ending in Spring 2016. The report
highlights a time in which OTF received its highest level of support
requests ever, as authoritarian actors worldwide increased the depth and
breadth of their censorship capabilities.

For the first time, OTF-supported tool adoption rose to over a
billion people - In this global context, OTF saw continued growth in
requests for support, receiving the highest number of submissions in the
history of its operations.

*Latin American Digital Media Conference**
When: October 19 - 20
Where: Mexico City, Mexico

Factual Mexico presents the 5th Latin American Digital Media Conference
held in Mexico City at the Centro Cultural de España on the 19th and
20th of October 2016. Join journalists and editors from throughout the
region to discuss the latest topics in digital media including, viable
business models, gender and media coverage and reporting and ethics: the
Panama Papers. This year is our fifth anniversary and will be run in
alliance with The National Association of Hispanic Journalists and
Chicas Poderosas.

The Digital Media Conference is supported by the Iberoamericana
University, el Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE),
Wayra México, Distintas Latitudes, Social TIC and Google México.
