Dear Friends,
Here's the IFF Weekly update for December 12-16.
If you have something to feature in the next IFF Weekly, send it over as
soon as possible!
###**News and Updates* *###
*Final IFF Session Review**!
*Since our Call for Proposals closed two weeks ago, the IFF Fellows have
been incredibly hard at work reviewing all of the fabulous sessions that
were sent in - we shattered last year's record with *over 500
submissions. *A huge thank you to everyone who shared their ideas and
submitted sessions, and helped to promote the Call for Proposals - we
couldn't have had such a successful turnout without your support!
*
*Currently, our Fellows are wrapping up the review process and we're
hoping to have approval notifications out by the end of the week - so
stay tuned!/

***Al Jazeera Liv**estream - Discussing Cyber Har**assment in **Pakistan
with Nighat Dad
**http://stream.aljazeera.com/story/201612130107-0025335
Last year, more than 3,000 cyber crimes were reported to the Pakistan
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). 45 percent of those targeted were
women using Facebook. Abuse online takes many forms – from being
blackmailed by hackers with sensitive pictures to threats of physical
violence and rape. Experts say increased access to the internet and
social media has added another dimension to gender based violence in
Pakistan.
Human rights activist, and lawyer, Nighat Dad is at the forefront in the
fight for women’s digital rights in Pakistan and will be discussing the
issue via livesteam on Al Jazeera today, December 13th, at 2:30PM
EST/7:30PM GMT
