Hi all,
I’m very happy to reconnect with the group after the summer break! In the meantime, I’d like to invite you to my upcoming online lecture titled "Infrastructural Power in the Age of Climate Crisis: Rethinking State, Public Values, and Scale.” It’s summarising almost 2 years of my last research project DATAFORESTS. It will take place on Tuesday, 17th September 2024, at 16:00 (CET), online via google meet https://meet.google.com/ind-khon-ijq <https://meet.google.com/ind-khon-ijq>
I’ll be joined by two amazing respondents (who may very well know): Dr. Alison Powell from LSE and Dr. Becky Kazansky from the University of Amsterdam. We’ll be discussing the role of state power and data infrastructures in managing environmental crises, drawing insights from my research on Poland’s forest governance.
For more details and to join, please visit: https://jniklas.com/data-forests/ <https://jniklas.com/data-forests/>
Looking forward to seeing you!
Best,
Jedrek

This will be an interesting discussion on resourcification vs extractivitsm vs green capitalism.

Are you working on or have your published a writing and want to share and discuss it with the rest of the group, let us know! Write me or the list serve an email and we will include your piece in the reading group syllabus.
