Hello Resource Designers!
Many of you know that I have a deep connection to MozFest. We’re now seeking <https://forms.gle/pY6YpP7XekvwwRh2A> volunteers (called Wranglers) to join interdisciplinary, global teams and remake the festival for the emerging moment.
About Mozilla Festival
At Mozilla Festival (aka MozFest) diverse communities work together to bring agency and accountability to the internet, artificial intelligence, and all aspects of our digital lives. The festival is for collaboration, learning, experimentation, and celebration! For 2023, we’ll work with Wranglers to build a vibrant virtual convening for communities worldwide.
About MozFest Wranglers
MozFest is co-created with Wranglers through “federated design <https://foundation.mozilla.org/en/blog/making-mozfest/>,” a set of intentions and practices optimizing community agency in shaping both the forms and content of the festival. Wranglers devote significant time to this work, reaping unique and worthwhile benefits!
For more details, check out our resource “Introduction to MozFest Wrangling.” <https://www.mozillafestival.org/en/introduction-to-wrangling/> Because MozFest is unlike most other conferences, we prefer those with some MozFest experience, though this is not required. The time commitment varies throughout the Wrangler process, but is typically between 4 and 8 hours per week.
If you are interested and would like to know more, please email me directly and I’ll send you more details on what it entails and how to apply. The deadline to apply is July 4th.. <https://forms.gle/pY6YpP7XekvwwRh2A> To recommend someone else, feel free to forward this message, and cc’ me.
ALSO - I’m running a session Tomorrow, June 24th at 15:00 UTC on Building Momentum Post-MozFest at MozFest fringe. Please drop by if you want help in thinking about how to capitalise on outputs/outcomes from a workshop session you may have run and also help us think about how we better support facilitators post-session. see: https://schedule.mozillafestival.org/session/J88MSA-1 <https://schedule.mozillafestival.org/session/J88MSA-1>
Many thanks!
Dirk
