Hi All!

Newbie here-I've been advised by Dirk to share this info on this list:

There's a growing community of "collective intelligence" researchers and practitioners (academics, entrepreneurs, designers, dreamers) centered around a conference that's been going on for about 10 years, bringing together both academics and practitioners. It's a "big tent" approach i.e. collective intelligence is broadly defined as collectives doing intelligent things. We're starting to organize some events to connect outside the annual conference, with our first such event just scheduled for November, prompting this email.

I've got two pieces of info about the collective intelligence community:

First, we have a mailing list. This mailing list is used pretty rarely, so you can safely subscribe without filling up your inbox. In order to subscribe, just send an email tocollectiveintelligence+subscribe at googlegroups.com<mailto:collectiveintelligence+subscribe at googlegroups.com> and you'll be automatically added. Subscribe to this mailing list for occasional updates about the CI community. And, please share announcements as you have them! Things like new papers, events, or apps/tools.

Second, we have a social event planned for this fall! Please join us for a virtual cocktail party on Friday, November 5th at 8am California / 11am NYC / 4pm UK / 11pm Hong Kong. This virtual/online event will be very informal-just a chance to hang out and chat with other people studying or applying in collective intelligence. We'll provide a little bit of structure in the online space to help promote conversation along different topics. To receive the link for this online social event, please use this RSVP form: https://forms.gle/2uAgpZYX14Z6cPua7

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or comments!

Cheers,
Joshua Becker, Assistant Professor, UCL School of Management
On behalf of the Collective Intelligence Events Committee
