Hi Everyone,
I know I have been way too quiet of late, but have been busy working on some really great projects. One of which has just started to get some visibility and I wanted to make sure it was on everyone’s radars.
Earlier in the year, I started working with Heather Leson (also a member of this network) on something called “The Data Playbook” which is a set of social learning curriculum with the aim of improving data-literacy within the International Federation of the Red Cross. What really impressed me was that the brief wasn’t ‘create curriculum’ but rather the brief was ‘curate existing curriculum' that people within the big world of the Red-Cross (national societies, programmes, sectors, etc.) had been developing themselves.
Heather has just posted a blog post on our process of co-creation which you can see here: https://media.ifrc.org/ifrc/2018/10/24/co-creating-data-playbook/
I’ll also be running a workshop at MozFest this weekend on Sunday Oct. 48th at 4:30pm with Margarita Griffiths from IFRC on ‘Co-Creating Participatory Resources’ on Saturday. https://guidebook.com/guide/147793/event/21682648/
This is all a teaser to say that we will have an Online Discussion about the co-creation process sometime in December (stay tuned!). But in the meantime do let me know if there’s anything in particular that might interest you.
OH and you can find the Data Playbook (Beta) here: https://www.preparecenter.org/toolkit/data-playbook
Cheers,
Dirk
PS - I’m doing a lot more at #MozFest this weekend. including a session on Enabling Learning On Saturday at 1pm - https://guidebook.com/guide/147793/event/21682654/. Do ping me if you’re there and want to meet up.
