Hello Everyone!
Firstly I’d like to say thanks to everyone who came to the session at IFF and then signed up to be part of the discussion! The session was incredibly helpful for me and I really appreciated your inputs. I’m putting the session notes below (Thanks to Megan Deblois!) as the IFF seems to be having some issues with getting notes up.
I hope this email list and the work we are about to undertake will be of benefit to you. We’ve just published a blog post on our plans on developing a network-centric resource for developing network-centric resources please see: http://www.fabriders.net/new-network-centric-resources/. One thing to mention - we have been receiving invaluable advice from Gunner at Aspiration (https://aspirationtech.org) and they are a partner in this project.
My first task for the project (after sending this email) will be to create a draft of a ‘checklist for starting a network centred resource,’ which I will distribute here in the coming weeks to get inputs from everyone. I’m also drafting a blog post called ‘what we learned from LevelUp’, which is a case study on https://level-up.cc - the digital safety trainer’s resource, so look for that soon.
My ask to you: please respond to this email by introducing yourself on the list, giving any amount of detail on the network-centric resource you are working on and what are the big challenges you are facing in doing so. Also HELP ME GROW THE NETWORK: If you know of anyone who could benefit from participating please point them at the project page at: http://www.fabriders.net/network-centric/ and they can find the link to join the discussion group. That will be the page for the project and you will find everything connected to FabRiders work on Network Centric Resources there. Feel free to forward those links and include them in your various feeds!
Thanks again!
Dirk
