Digitising Identity:
The Politics of Fraud Prevention
24.06.2026
Dear Dr. Huyskes,
On behalf of EINSTEIN, a Horizon Europe-funded project, you are invited to participate in an online workshop on the development of solutions for identity and document fraud detection across the digital identity lifecycle.
EINSTEIN is focused on the future of digitalised borders, secure identity management, and trustworthy identity and travel documents. The project aims to strengthen physical and digital identity checks, while supporting privacy-preserving approaches to fraud detection within border control, law enforcement, and immigration.
The workshop, titled ‘Digitising Identity: The Politics of Fraud Prevention’, is conceived as a working session rather than a traditional event. Its purpose is to bring together relevant associations and experts to discuss key themes related to the adoption and use of emerging solutions for identity and document fraud detection.
The workshop will take the form of a small, expert-level online roundtable discussion, facilitated by EINSTEIN project experts. It will bring together approximately 10 to 15 specialists from relevant associations and organisations working in this area.
The workshop will focus on understanding the potential implications of these solutions for travellers, migrants, and the organisations that support them. Together workshop participants will discuss and co-create recommendations for what legitimate and proportionate responses to fraud concerns should look like.
To join the workshop please RSVP to this invitation.
