[DATAGOV Core] Kick-off thoughts and summaries

Dear Jonas, dear all
I am lost: where is the speakers’ list? I would like to annotate it. Sorry for being so stupid.

I think sending off tomorrow or Jan 2-3 or so won’t make any difference, really. We are late. We will do with what and who we get, but hey this is just the first of many DATAGOV events. But sending out now means out of office reply and never seen.

In an ideal world, we would have more time. And if in the end we really have to postpone, we will. But let’s embrace where we are, we are working hard and couldn’t be any quicker, really.

I would like to review the speakers, and then I can prepare the invitations to send early Jan (unless they are ready—I am confused by a long mountain day!)

Hi lovely people,

I am still working today and I want to put some thoughts together regarding the kick-off before I forget all of it over much drinking and eating in the coming days. I’m also worried that it’s getting very late and the save the date should be out .

Are we going to have our call tomorrow morning or is everyone already on holidays?

SAVE the DATE: Thanks for the feedback. I will leave it as Stefania sent it for now and we should get it out. I am not sure about the dates, but I think it was either 25-26 or 26-27 (as Stefania put it)? When/how can we decide on this?
Re form, I don’t know a good alternative to Microsoft/Google. I’m not sure if we should add everyone to the community mailing list yet. That should perhaps be the step after the form, if they agreed to being added?

Location:IAS/Sweelinck seems very small on the photo (8? chairs around the table)I think the closed workshop should have space for around 20 people. I think Stefania communicated some UvA alternatives but I cannot find them back.

Program: My preferred structure: Day 1 (closed) kicks off around 2pm with workshop + dinner; Day 2 has the open workshop (10am-1pm-ish?) followed by keynotes, performance, and party?

Invitees: Speaker suggestion list is growing. Thanks everyone for that. We should chat through the list – who's best suited for which activity, any names we want to prioritize for specific roles, etc.
