Hi ~~ dear all coffee organizers,
Yes, as Sandy mentioned, we and some international partners are working on
translating a very important article. It's a interview article (from a
Chinese magazine, Renwu) of the doctor, Ai Fen, who first noticed the virus
back in December 2019. She was the Director of the Emergency Department in
the Wuhan Central Hospital.
Here it is >>>* How did the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak start in Wuhan,
China?
The article was taken down by China authority very soon after it was
published in March. The guardian
<https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/11/coronavirus-wuhan-doctor-ai-fen-speaks-out-against-authorities>
also
covered the summary of the piece. We felt that it is necessary to translate
the entire interview because there's more stories and emotions embedded in
the narrative, and that it's important for her voice to be heard. Ai Fen
also recently mysteriously disappeared.
Although the beginning of COVID-19 already seems so far from us since most
societies are struggling for their own fight, the voice and truth of the
source in this COVID-19 pandemic still important to be passed on and
understood. We wish we can all learn from the hiding facts and prepare for
the future.
In addition, the April C&C Taipei will be held this Thursday. The meet-up
will host online by using Mozilla hubs, the topic is "ZOOM" since everyone
is asking this. Gladly, Citizen Lab just published a new article talking
about the ZOOM
<https://citizenlab.ca/2020/04/move-fast-roll-your-own-crypto-a-quick-look-at-the-confidentiality-of-zoom-meetings/>,
it is a good reference for our coming meet-up.
Best,
Lulu
