Hi Sandy, thanks for sharing the NYC meeting and the lesson learned! It is
really helpful for us in Amsterdam.

Hi everyone,

For Coffee & Circumvention Amsterdam last week, we also had a nice turn
out. It was our first meeting, so we used the Kaos Amsterdam space to meet
with local digital activists and got their feedback on how to shape CC
Amsterdam.

We discussed potential formats/ activities of CC Amsterdam, and decided
that we want to use the first few meetings to learn from diaspora groups
who are under digital threats by the governments of their home countries,
combined with expert corners to provide digital security assistance. We
also decided on who's doing outreach, who's designing flyers, and potential
venues we could use. We also discussed the security risks for having
diaspora groups at the event, and how we could mitigate that.

We also spent quite a lot of time to learn more about each other.

One Lesson Learned:
Using existing gatherings to gather feedback and interests was quite
helpful for a new event like us. People were quite accommodating and
generous.

Cheers
wei
