Dear BigDataSur friends
For those who have not noticed it yet, the COVID-19 special blog of Big Data from the South features a powerful testimony of a survivor of domestic violence. It reflects on the power and twister nature of statistics, but also denounces the active “silent silencing” of survivors. The author, a member of this community, has asked to remain anonymous, which is why I am writing this message on their behalf.
You can find the blog post here:
https://data-activism.net/2020/09/bigdatasur-covid-silent-silencing-a-survivors-reflection-on-domestic-violence-during-covid-19/
Help us spread the word! In Covid-19 times domestic violence and abuse have dramatically increase, but reports are based on statistics that only partially tell the truth.
I wish to thank the author for sharing these important reflections with this community.
Best, Stefania
