Welcome everyone,
As social and digital researchers, you will be interested in the last article about the generation and coordination of autonomous movements through social media in Spain during the last COVID-19 quarantine.
The main point of this piece is the conflict and contradiction of using centralized social media -such as Instagram and Facebook- in order to build and expand self-coordinated networks. Forms of mutual support that are only possible thanks to the nature of these networks themselves, which prioritize and are based on locality and a shared identity.

The article is written in Spanish, but I would be more than happy to share my thoughts with whomever is engaged with this topic. I invite you to open a debate and contact me in case you want to discuss anything.

My name is Marta, I have broad range of interests ranging from social and political analysis of/in digital spaces -I used to work as data cosultant, converting social media conversations into graphs- to platform politics, the hierarchization of information and knowledge (visibility), and new forms of resistance, always trying to keep a critical eye.
