Dear friends
There is a lot of activity these days on BigDataSur!
There is also a new post in the sub-section dedicated to the challenges of COVID-19 (soon to be a blog in its own!).
The post is authored by Annalisa Pelizza and Yoren Lausberg from the Processing Citizenship project (check out processingcitizenship.eu), doing very important and critical work on the digital infrastructure used in the EU to “welcome” migrants. I joined them to reflect on the counting of invisible populations in a historical moment in which counting is of vital importance.. but of course risks also harming these vulnerable populations. We invite you to read and share the post…and possibly provide your view and perspective. We are writing about Europe, but believe some of our ideas are of more general breath… but there is much we do not cover at all.
The post has been originally published with OpenDemocracy.

Enjoy!
