[17-meetings] Educational laptops

Hey all,

For the primary school of my kids we’re looking to purchase laptops. Chromebooks are the de facto standard in education; very cheap, easy to maintain. I think I don’t need to explain why this is not an acceptable solution to me.

Are there on this list people who know about alternatives? 

Mind you; the answer for a school can never be; just buy a refurbished Thinkpad, install ubuntu and done; a certain amount of serviceability needs to be included… 

Maybe someone knows a company offering these kinds of services? Or knows a company that might be interested to collaborate on this and develop a new business model in the process?
