<p>Hi Dmitri,</p>
<p>Probably there can be some synergies with Convergence
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.peersm.com/Convergence-2020.pdf">http://www.peersm.com/Convergence-2020.pdf</a>) "A universal and
generic architecture to anonymize any application or protocol and
turn it into an independent decentralized p2p network inside
browsers and servers, with browsers acting as servers" using
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://github.com/Ayms/node-Tor">https://github.com/Ayms/node-Tor</a></p>
<p>This is a complete redesign of the initial Convergence proposal
from 2015, unlike the initial design it does not specify any
longer the upper layers, like peers discovery (most likely based
on a DHT) and in your case the distributed file storage/sharing,
the idea is simply ouinet.pipe(node-Tor) to secure and anonymize
any protocol/app on any platform fix or mobile including browsers<br>
</p>
<p>Peers can be clients, serving parties and RDV points at the same
time, for now they simply use a hash to request/say what they can
do (example : hash(bitcoin) --> I am talking bitcoin,
hash(ipfs) --> talking IPFS, hash(file) --> I have this
file, etc), peers can serve directly the request or relay via rdv
points to another peer that did advertise the hash</p>
<p>This is not to be misunderstood with the Tor network, even if
compatible with it</p>
<p>Please let me know your thoughts (note: the project is
usable/working since quite some time, so not at a prototype state,
but phase4-Evented pipe is partially implemented and not released,
phase5-elliptic crypto is not implemented, both I think are
mandatory in order for anybody beside myself to be able to easily
integrate/use it, right now I must admit that it's not completely
trivial even if recently updated/splitted into modules and well
documented)<br>
</p>
<p>Regards</p>
<p>Aymeric<br>
</p>
