I personally see this as a very exciting time when various groups are coalescing not so much around unique issues (the issues are the same across the board) but around different communities of practice and approaches. NATM is not meant to compete with BigDatSur and Tierra Común, but to build bridges. The focus of NATM will not be on the Global South, but on constructing a global movement that tackles the challenges of data colonialism globally. back against data colonialism presents challenges that cannot be
tackled by individual people, organizations or countries. Please join us
in a conversation about what it would take to form a Non Aligned
Technologies Movement (NATM), a worldwide alliance that seeks to define
and claim technosocial spaces beyond the profit-motivated model of
Silicon Valley and the control-motivated model of the Chinese Communist
Party, the two centers of power of a new extractivist order. <br><br>The meeting is scheduled for Nov 24 (Nov 25 in some areas) at the following times:<br><br>Mexico City 1pm<br>New York 2pm<br>Buenos Aires 4pm<br><div>London 7pm</div><div>Helsinki 9pm<br></div>Sydney (Nov 25) 6am<br><div>Waikato (Nov 25) 8am</div><br>During this 1.5 hour meeting, we will:<br><br>-Meet some of the people interested in this movement.<br><br>-Discuss what the goals and focus areas of the movement should be.<br><br>-Identify how you and your organization can engage with NATM.<br><br>-Propose ways in which to formally launch the movement.<br><br>-Engage in a "future history" exercise to imagine how NATM can succeed.<br><br><br>If you are interested in joining us, please visit <a href="http://rsvp.nonalignedtech.net" target="_blank">rsvp.nonalignedtech.net</a>.<br><br>We will send you an email with the Jitsi link and instructions before the day of the meeting. <br><br>We
